Ashley Wilburn is a native of Hagerstown in Maryland. She graduated from North Hagerstown High School where she received her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's legal career is centered around family law. She has a love for it. She focuses her practice on divorce cases, alimony issues, marital property division child custody battles, and child support arrangements. She also deals with the post-divorce and enforcement of issues as well as step-parent adoptions, private adoptions for parties as well as concerns about child welfare. Ashley has been as a mediator appointed by a court since the year, assisting parties in helping them resolve their disputes without the needing court involvement. Ashley mediates private disputes as well as court-appointed mediations for people who want to stay clear of court processes and litigation.
Ashley completed her undergraduate studies in History and Politics at Loyola University of Maryland. Then, she pursued her legal education through Western New England University School of Law. She graduated in 2013 and was ranked among the top 10 students of her class. Ashley was a Note Editor at the Western New England Law Review during her time at law school. This proved her dedication to scholarship and research in the field of law.
After completing her law degree, Ashley embarked on a clerkship journey, working for prominent jurists in Connecticut and Maryland. She had the honor of serving as a law clerk for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott at the Connecticut Appellate Court. In 2014, she returned to Hagerstown Maryland to work as a law clerk for the Honorable M. Kenneth Long, Washington County Circuit Court. In 2015, Ashley joined the esteemed law firm of Poole & Kane, P.A. As an associate attorney. Her main responsibilities at the firm involved representing the Washington County Department of Social Services in matters related to child welfare. Through her dedication, Ashley played a vital role in assisting children who had suffered neglect or abuse at hands of their parents or caregivers. Her dedication to social justice extended beyond her legal practice as she actively served as an officer of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force and worked tirelessly to raise awareness about human trafficking in the tri-state area.
In 2017, she was a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., and began her practice in family law, including custody, divorce guardianships, child maintenance and divorce – as well as financial and estate planning - wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxies – and mediation.
Ashley created Wilburn Law Office, LLC in 2023. Ashley founded Wilburn Law Office, LLC with the goal of providing an individual approach to each client's requirements.
